ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION

Abstracts for the Iberian Plant Biology 2027 Congress (IPB-27) must be submitted online using the abstract submission form available on this website.

Authors must complete the online form with the required contact, author and affiliation details and submit their abstract according to the guidelines below.

GENERAL RULES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstracts must be submitted through the online submission form. Once the submission has been successfully completed, the corresponding author will receive an automatic confirmation email at the address provided in the form.

Please keep this confirmation email as proof that the abstract has been successfully submitted.

ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS

  • Language: English.
  • Title: Maximum 20 words.
  • Authors: Full first name and surname(s) of all authors. Authors must be listed in order of authorship, including the corresponding author.
  • Affiliations: Department and institution/centre must be provided for all authors.
  • Abstract: Maximum 400 words.
  • Keywords: Three keywords.
  • Figures and tables: Not permitted.
  • Preferred presentation format: Oral Communication, Poster or Flash Talk.
Abstracts will be reproduced as submitted. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided and for the scientific and linguistic quality of their submission.

5th PhD MEETING IN PLANT BIOLOGY

PhD students and eligible early-career postdoctoral researchers may indicate during the submission process whether they wish their contribution to be considered for the 5th PhD Meeting in Plant Biology (5PMPB), which will take place on the morning of 1 June 2027.

The 5PMPB is intended for PhD students and early-career postdoctoral researchers, approximately within 2–3 years of completing their PhD.

EVALUATION AND ACCEPTANCE

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of IPB-27, which will assess their scientific quality and relevance to the Congress.

Authors may indicate their preferred scientific area and presentation format during the submission process. However, taking into account the scientific content of the contribution, the number of abstracts received and the organisation of the programme, the Scientific Committee will make the final decision regarding:

  • Acceptance of the abstract.
  • Scientific session.
  • Presentation format: Oral Communication, Poster or Flash Talk.

The final decision will be communicated by email to the corresponding author from 26 April 2027.

Important: At least one author of each accepted abstract must be registered for IPB-27 by 7 May 2027 in order for the contribution to be included in the final scientific programme and Abstract Book.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

  • Slides must be prepared in English.
  • Presentations should preferably be delivered in English.
  • Oral Communications will have a total duration of 20 minutes: 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions and discussion.
  • Detailed instructions regarding presentation format and file submission will be provided to presenting authors before the Congress.

FLASH TALKS

  • Slides must be prepared in English.
  • Presentations should preferably be delivered in English.
  • Flash Talks will have a total duration of 5 minutes.
  • Detailed instructions regarding presentation format and file submission will be provided to presenting authors before the Congress.

POSTERS

  • Posters must be prepared in English.
  • Posters must be prepared in A1 portrait format (594 × 841 mm).
  • Authors will be responsible for printing and bringing their poster to the Congress.
  • Each poster will be assigned a numbered panel. The corresponding poster number will be indicated in the final programme.
  • Material for attaching posters to the panels will be provided by the organisation.
  • Posters must be displayed during the period indicated in the final programme and removed by the authors at the end of the corresponding poster session.
  • Posters not removed within the indicated period may be collected and disposed of by the organisation.
Poster format: A1 portrait (594 × 841 mm). Further presentation guidelines will be published before the Congress.
